Before taking EDUC 8Y34: Teaching and Learning with Technology I was not at all comfortable teaching with technology. During my first block there wasn't much of an opportunity to try using technology because there wasn't a Smartboard in our room - which was totally fine with me because I didn't know how to use it! This course has boosted my confidence, and given me a startling amount of resources and tricks that I can integrate into my daily teaching. I was actually excited when I went into my second block and saw that there was a Smartboard in the room! I have learned (much to my chagrin) how to use Twitter, how to create hyperlinks, how to use google docs and google drive, how to embed videos, and much more! I think the greatest thing I am taking away from this course is confidence and desire to use technology! I even took it upon myself to enroll in a Smartboard training session and learned so much! Each one of these badges represents a milestone in my technological learning journey. When you see me in the classroom using an awesome Smartboard lesson, or a really neat app, you can most likely credit it to this course!

I assessed Miranda's Digital Portfolio and her work was exemplary in all aspects. She completed the Teacher Curriculum Blog, My TPACK Journey Page, eBook Page, Web 2 Learning Object Page, PLN Page, and the My TPACK Teacher Game. All of the images, media and text used follow copyright guidelines with accurate citations. All content throughout the ePortfolio displays the appropriate copyright permissions. The ePortfolio is easy to read. Fonts and type size vary appropriately for headings, sub-headings and text. Use of font styles (italic, bold, underline) is consistent and improves readability. Everything on her blog is very consistent. All artifacts are accompanied by a reflection that clearly explains how the artifact represents individual knowledge growth. Three statements are included in each reflective post too. Horizontal and vertical white space alignments are used appropriately to organize content. She has a colorful background, uses different fonts, and her links enhance the readability and aesthetic quality, and are used consistently throughout the ePortfolio. Finally, there are no errors in grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. I really enjoyed going through her Digital Portfolio. I give her a 30/30.
